Dark Cavern (rough draft of story from 2007) Continued

Dark Cavern
From Tocs Eloc—Tribal Legend -translation of verbal telling by Cire Darb

------------

At the break of dawn the Pineappleman awoke to the smell of roasting bird. The workers had already made breakfast. The Pineappleman began to gather his gear together- he wanted to get an early start. His translator brought him a drink which he downed in one swallow. "You want food?" he asked. "I'll be over in a minute". He finished packing then walked over and enjoyed some of the roasted bird with the workers no one said a word. When he finished he handed over some money to the lead worker and said "Wait here for me to return." The lead worker shook his head in agreement. The Pineappleman walked alone away from the camp and stood at the entrance to the Dark Cavern. He paused for a moment then he began to descend into the darkness below. When he was out of sight the workers began to pack up the camp and began to leave.
"I thought he said to stay here" The translator asked..
"For what?" the lead worker replied "He is a deadman"

Dark Cavern (rough draft of story from 2007)

DARK CAVERN
Monday, June 04, 2007
.......... .. .. ..............
Dark Cavern
From Tocs Eloc—Tribal Legend -translation of verbal telling by Cire Darb
The Pineappleman looked carefully at the old ragged map then back up again at the landscape. A smile crossed his face. He pointed in the direction of a rock formation that looked like a bird sitting on a perch. The workers gathered the gear and continued to follow him as he made his way through moist jungle surroundings in the direction of the rock. They walked for a bit more then he stopped again and said " We camp here". His assistant translated to the other workers --and they all removed the packs and began to make camp. The Pineappleman wandered toward an outcropping of jagged stones. There it was the entrance to the cave. Dark Cavern –it was called on the map where it was simply marked with the picture of a skull. A warning by the makers of the maps for the Dark Cavern was said to be guarded by evil spirits. But the cave was also rumored to hold a great treasure. For the cave was told to hold a rare healing stone that he needed badly. In the morning he would enter the Dark Cavern into the eternal darkness beneath the earth. Spirits or not and he was going to find what he was looking for.

Paradise Revealed April 4th 2007

From the writings of Cire Darb  --Historian --Myths of the Swohs Valley Elders
Once she had stopped crying –he let go of her and walked back down the incline to the creature that had tried to flee and pulled and twisted the machete out of its back.  He turned  back to Sunrise and asked "How much further to the Fortress?"
--------------
She answered.  "About a half mile at most."
--------------------
He did a quick search of the immediate area to make sure no other creatures were lurking around.  Among the dead creatures he found a gun that had belonged to Fallon.  The creature was probably to stupid to figure out how it worked so carried it around as a trophy instead.
-------------------
He checked to make sure it was loaded and then handed it to Sunrise and said.  "You were incredibly brave to trust me with this job –considering the stories you have told me.  I won't fail that trust.---This will end today I promise you"
-------------
He kissed her passionately  then told her.  "Now run back as fast as you can to the town and stay in my room until I return."   Then added  "I don't want to put you in at anymore risk."   She embraced him for what seemed like minutes then finally let go and started running back to town.   The Pineappleman  reloaded his own gun and trudged off down the pathway.
------------------
After a few minutes  he came to the edge of the forest and a small clearing.  There in front of him stood the Dark Fortress.

Paradise Revealed March 28th 2007

From the writings of Cire Darb  --Historian --Myths of the Swohs Valley Elders
The Pineappleman wasn't about to let him escape –so he threw the machete and landed it squarely into the creatures back as it ran away—dropping it dead in its tracks.  Then he quickly turned stopping just long enough to crush the neck of the creature he had punched in the throat and then ran up the incline to where the two creatures had taken Sunrise.  He spotted them under the shade of a rock outcropping-they had ripped her clothes off. One of them was holding  down her arms as the other creature was about to have his way his her—his disturbing hairy phallus erect.  The Pineappleman ran straight at the creature grabbing its club off the ground and striking its member with an upward blow that sent the creature backward –its bloody phallus dangling in its hand.  The other creature –released Sunrise and grabbed for its club  as the Pineappleman nailed the creature right between the eyes.   He stuck the stunned creature numerous times with vicious club blows—until its skull caved in.  Then he walked back over to the creature that still held its barely attacked member in its hand  --and he beat the creature  to death.  He then walked over and lifted Sunrise from the spot on the ground that she lay looked her in the eyes and asked  "Are you ok?"  She just held him crying.

Paradise Revealed MArch 25th 2007

From the writings of Cire Darb  --Historian --Myths of the Swohs Valley Elders
From out of the dark forest  6 short half-human forms appeared.   They trudged through the bushes with clubs held high in the air.  Sunrise grabbed the Pineappleman's  leg cowering on the ground in fear.  The Pineappleman pointed his gun at the approaching group and fired a shot taking out one of the creatures with a shot to its head.  They kept coming. He fired repeatedly taking out the line of creatures emptying his gun taking out the last one when it was only yards away. Then from behind him Sunrise was grabbed and pulled away from him by several creatures.   He swung around—his machete now in hand—as several creatures tackled him to the ground from the side sending his machete flying out of his hands.   There were at least  half a dozen creatures  of them from what he could glimpse.  As he tried to fight them off them off he could see two of the creatures dragging Sunrise kicking and screaming up a short incline.   He wasn't going to let anything happen to her.  He gathered his strength and punched his way free from the  3  creatures that were trying to hold him to the ground.  Just as he fought free of their hold one of the creatures was approaching  him holding his own machete.  He charged the creature avoiding its inexperienced wild swing –and punched the creature directly in the throat –knocking the creature out.   Quickly he grabbed the machete from its grasp and turned to defend himself from the other creatures that were right behind him.  As they struck at him with their clubs he made quick work of them his machete—carving them up with his lightning fast strikes.  Severed arms and legs flew through the air.  One of the creatures took off back down the path probably to warn the  Madman of what he had seen.

Paradise Revealed March 23rd 2007

From the writings of Cire Darb  --Historian --Myths of the Swohs Valley Elders
As they walked she told him more of the story. Tales of the Madman's cruelty.  Stories of what had happened to the girls that had tried to escape being raped and tortured.  Faceman as they called him –liked to kill for his own amusement. Prince Fathad's brother was clearly insane—but instead of dealing with his insanity they had they had sent him away and given him his own little playground with people as his playthings.  They were just as big of monsters as he was—and the Pineappleman made a mental note to himself to pay this Prince Fathad a visit someday.   He was going to put and end to all this suffering.   The Pineappleman had already noticed that eyes were watching them from the dark corners of the forest as they followed the path to the Dark Fortress.   The Pineappleman  drew his gun making sure all the chambers of his gun were full.  He heard movement off to his left and asked  Sunrise to stop.  He whispered into her ear. "Get down"

Paradise Revealed MArch 20th 2007

From the writings of Cire Darb  --Historian --Myths of the Swohs Valley Elders
"Can you show me the way to this fortress?"  The Pineappleman asked.
She held her hands over her face and shook her head  no.
"I can put a stop to all this"  He said
"I'm afraid"  She said "If you don't succeed I'll be put to death like the other girls"
He looked deeply into her eyes and said "I won't fail"   He paused turning back toward the palace.   "Let me gather my men and we will take care of everything."
----
"No"  She said  "Your friends won't help you---they are already too deep under the spell of the from the flowers.   If you try to draw them away they will resist and may even try to fight you."
----
"The flowers –that explains it---We tested all the food and drink—but didn't even think about the decorations.   What do they do?"
---
She answered   "The fragrance of the flowers work like a drug----they make men only care for their desires and forget everything else----I was afraid you too were deep under their spell –but somehow—you kept fighting it---that is why I lured you away from the party so that the influence would be less potent and you could concentrate on what was already on your mind."
-----
He grabbed her shoulders forcefully and said in a clear voice.  "Show me the way----I will deal this by myself then."
----
She just shook her head in agreement and off they went down the path toward the dark forest..
