Dark Fotress (continued)

From the Writings of Historian Cire Darb from the collected myths of the Swohs Valley Elders

The inside of the fortress was in shadow—unlit torches lined the walls. The Pineappleman stopped to light a torch and as he did he saw two short creatures scurrying out the doorway ahead of him. He called out "Where is the owner of this fortress –Tell him to show himself". He heard a door slam shut up ahead. With torch in one hand and his gun in the other he headed toward the noise.

Dark Fortress--Showdown (Continued)

From the Writings of Historian Cire Darb from the collected myths of the Swohs Valley Elders

As he walked past the poles--the birds took to flight-chirping their disapproval. He strode confidently down the pathway toward the open gateway. The madmen that owned this fortress must have figured that no stranger would dare approach with the ominous warning of his victims posted outside. But the Pineappleman walked straight past the poles and into the darkness of the fortress.

Dark Fortress--Showdown (part 1 of a daily series)

From the Writings of Historian Cire Darb from the collected myths of the Swohs Valley Elders

He emerged from the treeline and was greeted by a row of several hundred long spiked poles topped with severed heads. Some were fresh with black feathered birds pecking at the flesh. Others were just skulls obviously from less recent victims. Each pole was caked in the blood that dripped down their lengths. He boldly stepped out into the pathway that lead to the dark blackened fortress in the background

The Great Tiki Poem/ and Red River a glimpse at the Pineappleman's Adventures

The Great Tiki -----and Red River (pineappleman poems)

The Great Tiki (A Pineappleman poem)

He wears it around his neck
At all times
Laying against his chest
Inches above his heart

Nobody knows where it comes from?
What its significance is?

If asked he will simply look down
And stroke it with his fingers.

A simple necklace

A cheap plastic cord around his neck
Digging into his tanned flesh
A Tiki dangling from the end
The Great Tiki they call it

The Great Tiki
Carved out of some mysterious white stone
With eyes red like rubies
Forever staring out
Keeping watch
A Protector of sorts?

Native legends say that it makes him invincible
That he draws strength from it
That it gives him power.
But those are all just tales???
Right??

Its secret will remain a mystery for now
Until the time is right
There is a story behind it..
Behind why he wears it
Where it comes from
Until then the Great Tiki stares down upon his enemies
As they lay before him covered in Blood

Red River
Translated from Legend (attributed to the Pineappleman’s exploits in Cham Laman valley as transcribed by Cire Darb)

The River ran red
The color of blood.
Bodies lay on the banks of the river
Strewn about the jagged rocks
Life’s Fluid flowing from them
Like little tributaries
Flowing into the river
Deepening the rivers hue.

So much blood
So much chaos
As far as the eye could see
As the water and blood mixed the river slowed
The river oozed slowing between the rocks

Standing in the Distance
On a ledge
Overlooking the scene
He stood
Surveying the violence
With his Pistol smoking in his hand

The Journey Home Introduction to Writings by Cire Darb Historian ---From the Myths of the Swohs Valley Elders. --------------------------------------------------------- The Great Pineapple Field War had ended. Thousands of bodies lay strewn about the vast battlefield. The Blood of the dead soaking into the once fertile soil. What remained of the stronghold was now in flames. They were known as the Pineapplemen. Guardians of the great field and the secret that it held. They were the elite --hired from regions all over the world. Entrusted with the secrets of the fields --bound by a blood oath to protect it. But one of their number had revealed that secret to the world and ignited a bloody war to end all wars. Once numbered in the hundreds only 10 were still alive. With the Stronghold in ruins and their employer dead -their contract and oath was over. It was time to return home. They gathered up their belongings and their spoils of war and with the remaining warriors under their command and the field hands that had survived the devastation --set out down the road that eventually lead to the river and civilization. Yes the Great Pineapple Field War was over --but The Long Journey home was just beginning
