Downriver (2/23/2007)

From the writing of Nalla Mann --Bartender of the Bloody Nall Tavern

Kandu followed the Pineappleman's path and landed right behind him. Quickly he cut the ropes that bound Mona to the long pole. As he looked up the Pineappleman was holding back the first wave of warriors that had cleared the corners of the big feasting table. Leaving the girl on the ground between them he turned to face warriors that were coming around the other side of the fire pit.

---

The Pineappleman was swinging his machete with lightning speed –chopping off the tips of the spears as they were jabbed at him by the increasing number of warriors. As the crowd grew closer the machete began to tear into flesh and bone as well. Behind him he could hear a rapid series of rifle shots as Kandu picked off the warriors from the other side. As he continued to hold the group at bay he noticed to his horror that beyond them the ceremony was still going on as a warrior with a large knife began to decapitate the line of men one by one as if there was no battle going on The men just sat there in the kneeling position not even attempting escape --they must have been heavily drugged –he guessed.
